Eligibility : 485 visa holders, or students who have completed either Cert III or Cert IV in Automotive courses. Options are available for those who can’t meet the criterion.

Program Duration
240 hours, 10 Weeks / 3 days per week

INTERMEDIATE ELECTRIC LIGHT VEHICLE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

TRAINING PROGRAM

Program Duration
284 hours, 12 Weeks / 3 days per week

Training Location
Granville Smash Repair

CERTIFICATION INCLUDES:

  • High-voltage safety and handling
  • Diagnosing and repairing EV systems (batteries, motors, power electronics)
  • Hybrid powertrain systems and calibration
  • Hands-on training with EV-specific tools and procedures

OUTCOME:

  • Readiness to perform routine maintenance, basic diagnostics, and minor repairs on EVs/HEVs

What we do

Design short, intensive, industry-focused training programs to address skill gaps in Sydney and across Australia.

Provide upskilling opportunities and supporting job placements throughout the ANZ region.

Creating pathways for current mechanics to gain expertise in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle technology.

Eligible candidates & advantages

International & Domestic Students who have successfully completed Automotive courses under the current RTO system often lack the practical experience needed to secure employment in their chosen trade.

AVM bridges this gap by providing comprehensive training and hands-on experience. Our team of highly qualified and dedicated trainers delivers intensive training to enhance students’ employability and prepare them for the workforce.

Employer Engagement

Employers are welcome to visit the
training site to evaluate the students
first hand.

Certification Requirement

To earn the certificate of attainment,
students must successfully pass all
assessments.

Wage Guidelines

Students can be employed at a minimum wage per
hour ( Automotive Industry) or according to the ployer’s
Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA).

Mechanical Program Structure

Key components of the Mechanical program
are also repeated weekly across 10 weeks
to reinforce learning and skill development.

Panel Beating Program

Each module of the Panel Beating program
is repeated weekly, allowing students to
practice each module 10 times for mastery.

No Sponsorship Obligation

Employers are under no
obligation to sponsor students
after training.

Assessment Process

Students will be assessed on their completed
modules every 3-4 weeks, ensuring consistent
progress and understanding.

Andrew Sexton

Head Instructor for Automotive Training

  • Served for 21 Years in the Australian Army.
  • Over 20 years experience as owner operator for a transport company including Trucks, & Limousines,
  • Since 2015 contracted to UBER for supplying Motor Vehicles to Drivers who do not own a car.
  • Smash Repair for Uber Car Share, LDV and MG Motors & Mustang Mania.
  • Supervisor in Training International Student in Light Vehicle Repairs, Smash Repairs,
  • Custom Car Building, and Painting.
  • Additional - Diploma in Business Management
  • Justice of the Peace
  • 40 Years experience in Panel and Paint Repair
  • Over 20 years experience as Head of Training, Smash and Paint Repairs -Mitsubishi Motors Suva FIJI
  • 5 years experience as Forman/Supervisor Priority Smash Repair Parramatta
  • 5 Years experience as Owner/ Operator of Rabens Smash Repair Shop
  • Since 2015 working as Supervisor Repairs, Custom Car Building and Training International Students.
  • Certified Tradesman and Trainer
